Gary Seltzer is a Tax and Financial Planner at SSA, and has been with the company since 1986. In addition to the state and national CPA associations that all SSA partners belong to, Gary has served as a board member of the Colorado Springs Estate Planning Council, the local chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants, the Springs Rescue Mission and the Eagles Glen Foundation. He has also served as an expert witness in Chapter 11 cases and other court actions for his expertise in tax and accounting issues. Gary loves spending time with his family and is a firm believer that grandchildren cannot truly be spoiled.
Chris Poe, CPA, has almost 15 years of experience providing attestation and tax services to clients. His expertise lies primarily with for-profits including construction, restaurants, real estate, service stations, and private equity. He also has significant experience with benefit plans and non-profits. He is very passionate about investments and real estate opportunities and enjoys advising on prospects and business transactions. His career began with a top fifteen CPA firm in Oklahoma but when the fresh mountain air and an opportunity presented itself to join SSA, PC, he quickly seized the opportunity to make the move to Colorado. He was promoted to partner at SSA, PC, effective January 1, 2020. Chris also serves on the Board of Directors for Pikes Peak Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association.
Nicole Jackson, CPA, is a 2010 and 2011 graduate of Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, with B.S. and M.S. degrees in accounting. She began her career in public accounting in January 2012 with BKD, LLP (now Forvis Mazars, LLP) in Tulsa, Oklahoma and has 14 years of experience in audit and attestation providing services to privately owned companies in the transportation, manufacturing & distribution, construction, and real estate industries.
Nicole found her passion serving clients in the employee benefit plan space from early in her career. She coordinates annual training for benefit plan auditors and attends the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Employee Benefit Plan Conference. While in Tulsa, she served as the President of the Tulsa Employee Benefits Group for six consecutive years.
Nicole is a member of the AICPA and Colorado Society of CPAs. She was the recipient of BKD Oklahoma’s inaugural Pillar of the Firm award presented to the one employee who best exemplifies a team player and mentor to others.
In November 2020, Nicole joined the SSA team for the opportunity to learn tax and to partake in the wonderful hiking and outdoor life in Colorado. Nicole was promoted to partner at SSA, PC, January 1, 2025.
Xiaoxiao Corbell is originally from China and is fluent in both Mandarin and English. She spent 4 years in the Netherlands completing her bachelor degree in Business Administration and came to the United States in 2010. She graduated from the University of Colorado, Denver with a Master of Accounting and has been working in public accounting since 2015. Xiaoxiao worked for Deloitte Tax LLP in Denver for 2 years before she joined the SSA team in 2018. Xiaoxiao specializes in preparing and reviewing business, individual, trust and estate, nonprofits, and benefit plan income tax returns.
Xiaoxiao is a member of the AICPA and serves as a board member of the Colorado Springs Prospector’s Association. In her role as a member of this local leadership group, Xiaoxiao provides valuable business referrals and leads to various members in the group and helps facilitate and coordinate business transactions.
Xiaoxiao has lived in Colorado Springs for 12 years and enjoys Colorado’s weather and culture. As the mother of a five-year old boy, Xiaoxiao stays active and enjoys the typical Colorado outdoor activities. During non-tax season, Xiaoxiao loves spending time taking her son on outside adventures and making special treats for family.
Kari Barber, CPA, is a 2008 and 2017 graduate of Oklahoma City University, with Bachelors of Music and M.S. in Accounting degrees. She began her career in public accounting in January 2018 with BKD, LLP (now known as Forvis Mazars, LLP) in Oklahoma City, OK where she spent 4 years in audit and attestation serving clients in commercial, higher education, tribal gaming operations and financial services. She also performed internal audits for financial institutions as well as audits for employee benefit plans for all industries. Prior to accepting a position in audit with SSA, P.C., Kari also worked with Weokie Federal Credit Union serving as the Internal Audit Manager where she created an infrastructure for a more modern and robust internal audit practice within the organization.
In January 2022, Kari and her husband, Ryne, moved to Colorado Springs where Kari joined the SSA team to continue her career serving clients in external audit and attestation. Kari and Ryne stay active spending time with family and their pets and have enjoyed Colorado’s cooler climate, picturesque views, and outdoor adventures.
Kari previously served as a board member of Painted Sky Opera and is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Colorado Society of CPA’s, and the Pikes Peak Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association.
Jyoti Khatri is a CPA and Senior Auditor with extensive experience in both industry and public accounting. A graduate of St. Cloud State University with a B.S. in accounting, Jyoti began her career at Ernst Winter & Associates LLP, where she developed a solid foundation in broker-dealer audits and individual and corporate tax. She went on to work as an auditor for PwC, specializing in the financial services sector for three years. Following her time at PwC, Jyoti advanced into industry roles as a senior accountant across diverse sectors, including hospitality, technology, and digital services. Additionally, she served as a seasonal tax manager for three years with a firm in Oklahoma. Jyoti joined the SSA team in August 2024.
As a member of the AICPA, Jyoti is committed to professional growth.
Outside of work, Jyoti enjoys travelling and creating lasting memories with her husband, Binod, and daughter, June.
MeLissa Rocco is a Colorado native with over 25 years of experience in public accounting and industry. She specializes in tax preparation and planning for individuals and small businesses.
She has worked in both Colorado and the San Francisco Bay Area and has also owned and operated small businesses. MeLissa values building lasting relationships with clients and takes a thoughtful, steady approach to her work.
Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her son, is active in her church, and serves as an assistant coach for her son's Special Olympics team.
Winston Eldridge was raised in Colorado Springs, where he spent the first 18 years of his life before serving in the U.S. Army from 2018 to 2022. After completing his military service, Winston began his career in bookkeeping and tax accounting in 2022, gaining valuable experience working with clients across New York, California, and Colorado.
As a Senior Tax Accountant, Winston specializes in working with real estate investors and small to mid-sized businesses. He earned his Enrolled Agent (EA) license in 2024, granting him the authority to represent clients before the IRS in all 50 states. Prior to joining SSA in 2024, Winston worked at CBIZ, a top national accounting and advisory firm.
Winston is actively pursuing his CPA license and a Master of Taxation from the University of Denver, with an anticipated completion in late 2026. Outside of the office, he enjoys staying active and spending time in the Colorado outdoors with his family—hiking, hunting, fishing, and camping. He and his wife are proud parents of four children—two boys and two girls.
Laura Heischman, EA, is a 2004 and 2011 graduate of California State University with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and MBA in finance. She began her career in tax and business accounting in 2004 and earned her Enrolled Agent (EA) license in 2022.
As a Navy veteran and a former IRS employee, Laura has worked with government forms and regulations for over 30 years. She has tax experience in California, Virginia, Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado.
Laura moved to Colorado and joined the SSA team in 2022 where she is enjoying the friendly work and social environment.
